Big News

Teresa can walk! She walks all over the place now! It is amazing watching her fall down and get right back up again and walk somewhere else. She is full of personality and will be turning one on December 14th. She is growing fast!

The ACTUAL big news is that Justin and I will be welcoming child number 6 into our family in late April or early May! My due date is May 7th, but I have a feeling that this one will come in April, possibly on the 27th, which will be my birthday. I just have that feeling, thanks Chrissy! We will find out whether the baby will be a girl or a boy on January 3rd. This is late for normal ultrasounds, but the heart will be bigger and the doctor will be able to check out his or her heart for any problems. (Not that we are expecting any.) We also have horrible insurance and so if we wait until the new year it will go on the new deductible and thus help us out financially.

The kids are all very excited and can’t wait to find out the gender. The boys want a boy, as does Elizabeth. Mary wants a girl. She had a count down to when we would be able to find out what we were having! She also has a list of names she likes to help us out when we need to decide a name. I am thinking this baby is a boy. I have not been sick with this one like like I was with my girls, so that is a pretty good sign to me. I wasn’t sick at all with the boys, just hungry all the time. :) We shall see if my hunch is correct…

St. Nicholas came to our house the other day and brought a small gift and some candy. I think that Elizabeth has played with Teresa’s baby doll more than she has played with with her Tinkerbell toy… It’s too funny!

Walking girl

Teresa started walking the week of Thanksgiving! She went from taking two or three steps for a month, to walking. She just decided it was time. Of course it helped that we were all sitting in a circle and clapping when she walked to one of us. :) Now it is cute watching her walk from place to place. She’s a toddler now!

Becoming Social

I took Elizabeth and Teresa to the library for story time today. They both enjoy going, and I am hoping it will help Elizabeth become more social with other kids and adults. At the end of story time, the librarian blows little bubbles all over the room and Teresa is just enthralled with them. She crawls all over trying to touch them. It is very cute!
After story time today, Teresa crawled over to the blocks while Elizabeth was playing with the puzzles. There was another baby girl there about Teresa’s age playing with the blocks too. Teresa was watching her and playing. After a few minutes, the dad came and picked up the little girl to leave. Teresa started crying when they left. It was too cute! My not quite 9 month old made a friend!

Labor Day

It’s really funny sometimes when, as a parent, you learn what makes your children excited. Joseph has been begging to go to Sam’s Club to eat! We had let our membership expire, so we were not able to go. On Monday, we decided to renew our membership and surprise the kids with a trip there to eat. The children were very excited when they discovered the destination of our trip. They all ate what they wanted and were well behaved! I couldn’t have asked for a better trip to the store!

Yesterday and today, the littlest Karpilo, Teresa, has decided that she needed to jump out of my arms! It is always when I least expect it, so it scares me to death! I have been lucky and caught her each time, but I’m sure the day will come when I don’t catch her…
